When I stopped selling hours and sold a result

I used to quote by the hour and apologize for the total. Then I packaged the same work as one fixed outcome, and the conversation changed.

Hourly rates, detailed time logs, and a lot of explaining why something took as long as it did.

Clients negotiated the hours, not the value. Every invoice was a small argument, and good work got punished for being fast.

Stuck — like I was being paid for effort instead of results.

The work itself was getting real outcomes; only the way I sold it was broken.

I named a fixed offer — a website that converts, delivered in three weeks — with a clear scope and one price tied to the result, not the clock.

Sell the outcome and the timeline, not your hours. The price should reflect what the result is worth to them.

Every service I offer now has a productized version with a fixed scope, price, and promise.
