People Buy the Version of Themselves on the Other Side.

Nobody really wants your course, your template, or your coaching. They want who they'll be after it works. The fitter version. The confident-on-camera version. The finally-launched version. You're not selling the thing. You're selling the person they get to become.

Most creators describe the mechanism — the modules, the features, the process — and forget to paint the destination. But buyers don't get excited about mechanisms. They get excited about outcomes they can picture themselves living. Your job is to make that after-picture vivid enough that they want to step into it.

Paint the day-after

Future pacing is the simple skill of describing life on the other side of the purchase. Instead of "this program has eight modules on pricing," try "in a month, you'll quote your rate without flinching and watch people say yes." Same offer. One talks about your stuff. The other lets the buyer feel the result.

Get specific about the change. What does their day look like once the problem's solved? What do they stop worrying about? What can they finally do that they couldn't before? The more clearly someone sees that better version of themselves, the more they want to close the gap — and your offer is the bridge across it.

So lead with the after. Describe the person they're trying to become, show them standing there, then explain how you get them across. Sell the destination, and the mechanism becomes the easy part.

Keep going

People buy the after, then look for reasons to trust it. See why you should make the evidence visible before the ask feels risky, and why an offer they can't explain back won't sell. The full playbook set is here, and here's how creators grow and sell on TSWG.
