Design the Journey So the Next Step Is Obvious
Most sales are lost to friction, not objections. Remove the friction, not the persuasion, and more people finish.
Most sales aren't lost to a good objection. They're lost to friction — a confusing next step, one extra click, a form that asks for too much, a moment where the person isn't sure what to do and simply closes the tab. The leak is rarely about wanting it. It's about the path being harder than it needed to be.
So the fix usually isn't more persuasion. It's less friction. You don't need to convince harder. You need to make the next move so obvious that doing it takes no thought at all.
Don't make them think
At every stage, the person should know exactly what to do next without pausing to work it out. One clear button, not five competing links. One simple instruction. A form that asks for the least it can. The fewer decisions you force, the more people make it through.
Walk your own path as if you've never seen it. Every place you hesitate, every "wait, what now?", every form field you don't strictly need — that's a leak. Close it. Cut the step, reduce the choices, label the next action in plain words.
This is unglamorous work, and it pays better than almost anything else you can do. Smoothing the path lifts results without a single new argument, because you're not fighting reluctance — you're removing obstacles from people who already wanted to proceed. Make it effortless, and more of them reach the end.
Keep going
Remove friction at every stage and the path runs itself. See how small yeses build toward the decision, and why the system should reply the moment they reach out. The rest of the free creator playbooks live here — and when you're ready, here's how creators grow and sell on TSWG.
